Not only since the Kaisermarathon Söll became venue of the World LDMR Challenge, Markus Kröll is among the starter: in fact the Zillertaler mountainrunning” crack” is competitor since the beginning of the Tour de Tirol and he knows ,due to his experience in the world cup for years, what really counts at a competition like the Tour de Tirol.
Before the race: a good warming up with running-in and stretch excercises is essential. Especially with warm weather conditions you should not forget about this! Before the race you should fill up your reserves with all necessary nutriments to fend of cramp and deficiency symptom during the race.
The race: use every refreshing station to give your body enough liquid. Respect the increased demand in case of hot and dry weather and better drink too much as too little. Don`t forget about headgear by sunshine.
Rule of thumb: Does the race take longer as one hour, the Austrian Mountain Running Champ drinks red bull as an extra power input for the last kilometres.
Absolute No-No: Try something new during the race. Test the tolerance from food, drinks, shoes and sock already during training; then you will not have unpleasant surprises.
