CHALLENGE
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Tour de Tirol, the Kaisermarathon Ultra celebrates its premiere. Covering 77 kilometers with 3.492 meters of elevation gain, this race offers an extraordinary running experience through the breathtaking mountain landscapes surrounding the Wilder Kaiser.
Challenging sections alternate with more enjoyable stretches, spectacular views, and a truly unique atmosphere. The Kaisermarathon Ultra is designed for experienced runners who are looking for something special, enjoy pushing their limits — and above all, have a passion for running in the mountains.
COURSE
The Kaisermarathon Ultra starts in the village center of Söll — at the same time as the Kaisermarathon — and initially leads to the Alpenschlössl, before returning through the village center. The route then continues via Scheffau to Ellmau, reaching the Rübezahlalm. From there, the course leads to the Panoramarestaurant Bergkaiser. The route continues along hiking trails to the Tanzboden, then past the Jochstubensee to the Filzalmsee, and onward to the Hexenwasser. The steepest section follows partly narrow and steep hiking trails up to the summit of the Hohe Salve. From this point on, only ultra runners who reach the checkpoint within a cut-off time of 06:00 hours may continue. The course then descends via Rigi to the Kraftalm, continues past the Stöcklalm to the Hexenwasser, and from there leads back with direct views of the Wilder Kaiser via Tanzboden, Ellmau, and Scheffau, finishing in the village center of Söll.
In the event of extremely poor weather conditions, the organizer reserves the right to modify the course.
